How We Care for Your Pets

We're not just animal lovers - we're trained, hands-on professionals who take care seriously. Every staff member is trained on routines, cleaning standards, handling, and kennel safety. Your pet is always in calm, capable hands.

Chief Bark Officer

Mark Stevens

Mark’s been with Sturgeon County Kennels since day one - way back in 2005. But really, his story with dogs started long before that. He grew up surrounded by pups of every kind, and that lifelong love is what shaped the kennel into what it is today: a place where pets are treated like family, and where details matter.

These days, Mark’s still hands-on - walking the grounds, chatting with staff, and making sure every dog is getting the care they deserve. He’s proud of how far the kennel has come, and even more excited about where it’s headed. Around here, it’s not just about boarding - it’s about trust, comfort, and a whole lot of tail wags.

Assistant Manager

Stacey

Originally from Nova Scotia, Stacey brought her love for animals with her when she moved to Alberta in 2007. She joined Sturgeon County Kennels in 2022 and quickly became an essential part of the team. With a calm presence and a genuine care for every animal that walks through our doors, Stacey helps keep the kennel running smoothly day in and day out.

She's the kind of person who notices the little things - a nervous tail, a favorite routine, a pet parent who just needs a bit of reassurance. For her, making sure every animal feels safe, calm, and cared for isn’t just work - it’s second nature.
